2015 5K Run/Walk for the BCMC Build
2015 5K Recap
by Joe Kannapell, MiTek
More than 40 runners and walkers started day two of BCMC along Milwaukee’s scenic Riverwalk, engaged in the 5th Annual Run for the BCMC Build, to raise funds for the two homes being built for wounded veterans. Gary Weaver, 2015 Hall of Fame recipient, returned from retirement to participate, and even sponsored the event along with Alpine, Eagle Metal Products, MiTek, Paslode, Simpson Strong-Tie and SBCA.
SBCA’s own mega-endurance athlete, Ryan Dexter, took off at a blistering pace, and wasn’t seriously challenged on the straight, flat route skirting the Milwaukee River. Not far behind, and finishing together, were Taft Ketchum, owner of PDJ Components in New York, and his pro-fitness spouse, Colleen. Runners and walkers alike gained a picturesque view of a revitalized downtown, mirroring prior BCMC 5K routes through Indianapolis, San Antonio and New Orleans. And all are welcome to enjoy an equally stimulating experience along the Tennessee River at BCMC 2016 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
