Hammond Lumber Co. announced today it will acquire three construction supply stores in Maine from New England Building Materials (NEBM), helping turn the No. 36 store on the ProSales 100 from what was an eight-store operation two years ago into what will be a 12-facility company. Meanwhile, NEBM will consolidate some remaining branches and refocus its efforts on southern Maine and eastern Massachusetts.
