Resistance of load for the structural framework of any building and its assumed factor of safety are predicated on accurate and reliable raw material and construction products design values, application factors and related engineering properties.

Given the structural component industry’s reliance on these design values, application factors and related engineering properties, the SBCA Executive Committee has created and approved a draft policy for consideration by the SBCA Board of Directors entitled: Structural Building Components Industry Truss and Component Raw Material and Construction Products Design Properties Policy.

The Executive Committee strongly encourages all component manufacturer (CM) members to read and understand this draft policy.  Upon review, if you have any questions, concerns or input, please contact SBCA.  This draft policy will be considered at SBCA’s next Open Quarterly Meeting in Coronda, CA February 26-27.
