BCMC Build Chapter Challenge Winners Announced

The success of BCMC Build depends entirely on the material and financial donations of SBCA members. Thanks to everyone’s tireless efforts and generosity, this year’s project was able to build two new homes for wounded veterans and their families. Both houses are now framed, and it won’t be long until the Wroblewskis and the Kitelingers move in next door to each other.

This year’s project was especially critical because the construction of these homes provided fresh data for a new look at our Framing the American Dream (FAD) initiative. FAD comparisons of stick and component framing clearly show that components increase building efficiency and provide persuasive, objective analysis for component manufacturers looking to increase their market share.

We want to particularly recognize the contributions of three SBCA Chapters who excelled in this year’s BCMC Build Chapter Challenge:

  • SBCA of the Capital Area. The SBCA Capital Area Chapter raised more than twice as many dollars per member as their nearest competitor. Congratulations, SBCA Capital Area Chapter members, for winning the overall competition!
  • Truss Manufacturers Association of Texas. The TMAT Chapter raised more overall money than any other chapter. It was a very close competition, though, with TMAT edging out the Capital Area Chapter by only $15! Thank you TMAT for your strong and sustained commitment to the BCMC Build project! It was fun for everyone to watch this competition to be decided on the final day of the competition!
  • Wisconsin Truss Manufacturers Association. The WTMA Chapter gave more in combined financial and in-kind donations than any other Chapter. Thank you, WTMA members, for proudly hosting this year’s project!

The full results of the Chapter Fundraising Challenge are available here. Our deep gratitude to every SBCA member who contributed time, money or materials the BCMC Build project. Watch for future updates on completion of the houses and updates to the FAD data and marketing materials.
