Business is growing throughout the structural building components industry as housing starts continue to grow. That’s a very good thing for Lakeside Trailer, a leading producer of roll-off trailers to the components industry. “More component sales are translating into a greater demand for delivery trailers,” said Lee Kinsman, owner of Lakeside. “Right now our trailer sales are stronger than they were last year at this time.”

Even though Lakeside experienced a fire at their production facility a few months ago, it’s proving to be an unexpected boon for the company. “Losing one of our production buildings was not something we ever wanted to happen,” said Kinsman. “However, there’s a silver lining in that it’s enabling us to build a new, state-of-the-art facility that will double our previous production capacity.”

In the meantime, Lakeside Trailer is producing trailers out of two nearby buildings they are leasing until the new facility goes online in August. “Production capacity has always been one of the things that has held us back; demand for our trailers has continually exceeded our ability to manufacture them,” said Kinsman. “That won’t be a problem any longer.”

Kinsman is planning for a big BCMC show in Knoxville, Tennessee this coming October, “We’re starting to prepare now for what we know will be a very busy show.”
