PermaBase CI Insulated Cement Board was created to provide durability and insulation in one lighter- weight package, says National Gypsum Co. PermaBase CI combines structure, insulation, and waterproofing, reducing the number of times a crew has to circle a house to prepare the exterior for cladding. It does not purport to provide an air barrier. It’s approved for adhered veneer finishes such as manufactured and natural stone, thin brick, and tile, as well as direct-applied coatings of synthetic stucco.
