Specialty building materials distributor US LBM acquired Connecticut dealer Ridgefield Supply Company. Ridgefield Supply, founded in 1883, operates a 89,000-square-foot facility in Ridgefield, Conn., which includes a lumberyard, warehouses, a hardware and paint store, window and millwork showrooms, and an employee-training center.

“Ridgefield Supply has a long history of success, and they’re a great fit for US LBM,” US LBM president and CEO L.T. Gibson said in a news release. “The New York-New Jersey-Connecticut tristate region is a growing market and adding a dealer and team of Ridgefield Supply’s caliber strengthens and enhances our position in the nation’s largest market.”

The dealer services customers in Fairfield County, Conn., and Westchester County, N.Y. Ridgefield’s product mix includes lumber, paint, windowsdoors, millwork, decking, and interior and exterior trim. US LBM said Glen Albee will continue to lead Ridgefield Supply’s day-to-day operations as president after the deal closes.

“US LBM has a reputation for excellence with a culture that puts people and customers first, and we’re excited for Ridgefield Supply’s next chapter,” Albee said. “With US LBM, our customers will be able to continue to rely on the same team they know and trust while having access to a wider range of specialty products and brands.”

In addition to Ridgefield Supply, US LBM’s operating divisions in the New York tristate area include East Haven Builders Supply, Feldman Lumber, Direct Cabinet Sales, and Universal Supply.

The acquisition of Ridgefield Supply Company follows US LBM’s recent acquisition of Zeeland Lumber, the 48th largest firm on the 2020 ProSales 100 list. In November, US LBM signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Bain Capital Private Equity.

Buffalo Grove, Ill.-based US LBM ranked 6th on the 2020 ProSales 100 and operates more than 250 locations across the United States. The distributor offers a portfolio of specialty products, including windowsdoors, millwork, wallboard, roofing, siding, engineered components, and cabinetry.
