"Be Essential" is SBCA’s new social media campaign that features photos and videos from component manufacturers across the country to highlight the valuable role the building components industry has played in the lives of its employees during the course of this year. The campaign promotes the industry as safe and essential – an industry where people can take pride in their work knowing that they are helping build homes, schools, and places of business. Each post links back to the Career Opportunities page on SBCA’s Best Way to Frame website.

As another way to promote the “Be Essential” campaign we have created a Facebook Frame in English and in Spanish. All CMs are encouraged to add this frame to their profile pictures in order to bring awareness to this great industry and all the available job opportunities.

There are thousands of Americans currently looking for jobs due to COVID-19. Bringing more awareness to component manufacturing through social media is an opportunity to help your employees’ friends and neighbors find jobs and strengthen every company.

The ongoing success of this campaign relies on the engagement and participation of every CM! Here’s what you can do:

  • Like and share SBCA's "Be Essential" posts on Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube to increase the number of people who see them.
  • If you are an SBCA member, log in to the Manage Career Opportunities page and post your company's current job openings to continue to build this resource for those outside the industry looking to join it.

Contact Mindy or Ashley with any questions you might have about this new initiative or if you are interested in contributing photos or videos on behalf of your company. Many thanks to the SBCA members who have already gotten involved in these efforts.
