Safe+Sound Week Is August 10-16, Resources Available
The NFC encourages members to participate in OSHA’s national Safe+Sound campaign, a year-round effort to raise awareness of the value of workplace safety and health programs. Participation is a good way for framers to get started with a new subscription to FrameSAFE or get active subscribers more involved with their existing program and then celebrate their safety successes during Safe+Sound week, August 10-16, 2020.
Participants should select activities that focus on at least one, if not three of the core elements of an effective safety and health program: management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing workplace hazards. NFC FrameSAFE subscribers can utilize program resources to address each of the core elements. The FrameSAFE Implementation Guide covers management leadership; the library of Toolbox Talks, posters, and AHA templates assist with worker participation; and the Safety Awareness checklists cover the ongoing need to find/fix hazards.
Throughout this campaign, OSHA emphasizes that, “implementing a meaningful safety and health program takes dedicated planning, but even incremental improvements are valuable.” In addition to those linked above, the Safe+Sound website provides a variety of resources on the three core elements that include simple, concrete ways for you to develop your safety and health program.
Contact NFC staff today to start your FrameSAFE subscription and begin accessing these bilingual resources to increase framer safety and ensure your workers “work safely and go home safely.”
