BMC Stock Holdings, Inc., one of the nation’s leading providers of diversified building materials and solutions to new construction builders and professional remodelers in the U.S., today has earned recognition as a 2021 Military Friendly® Employer.
The designation recognizes BMC’s success in creating comprehensive programs to serve the military and veteran community and its commitment to significantly increasing its hiring of veterans over the next five years. As part of these efforts, the Company has established the BMC Proud to Serve Employee Resource Group (ERG). The ERG is focused on providing mentorship, fellowship, networking and leadership development opportunities to veterans, active duty military, reservists and guardsmen growing their careers at BMC.
“As a proud father of a soldier, finding ways to serve the heroes who serve our nation is a cause near to my heart,” said Dave Flitman, BMC President & CEO. “BMC values the strength, loyalty and skills these brave men and women bring to the civilian workforce, and we’re committed to fostering a culture that gives them the resources and tools they need to succeed.”
To earn the Military Friendly® Employer designation, BMC was evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by VIQTORY with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining an organization’s survey score with an assessment of the organization’s ability to meet thresholds for Applicant, New Hire Retention, Employee Turnover, and Promotion & Advancement of veterans and military employees.
“Companies that have earned this designation have invested in substantive programs to recruit, retain and advance veterans within their organizations,” said Josh Rosen, Director of Military Friendly®. “To them, hiring veterans isn’t just the right thing to do. It’s good for business.”
BMC will be showcased along with other 2021 Military Friendly ® Employers in the December issue of G.I. Jobs ® magazine and on MilitaryFriendly.com.
