Since 2012, OSHA has partnered with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) - Construction Sector on the Fall Prevention Campaign to raise awareness among workers and employers about common fall hazards in construction, and how falls from ladders, scaffolds and roofs can be prevented. This year’s National Safety Stand-Down is May 3-7, 2021.
One easy way to clearly show your support of the 2021 Stand-Down is with hardhat stickers, which can be ordered using this online ordering form. These stickers recognize worker participation in stand-down events (including virtual ones). If you would like to have your order in time for the Stand-Down week, please place it by April 16th.
To support the 2021 Safety Stand-Down, we are encouraging our members to participate in the NFC Stand-Down Photo Contest. Send photos of your participation in OSHA’s 2021 National Safety Stand-Down for a chance to win! Show us your Toolbox Talk activities, safety equipment inspections or other unique ways you discussed job specific hazards in your company then submit your photos to NFC staff. Visit the NFC OSHA Stand Down page to see what other framers are doing.
There are many resources online regarding this initiative, which we have boiled down on the NFC website. If you haven’t already, now is the time to finalize your plans for your company’s stand-down activities!
